A View from My Office Window
Chapter Three
Time sure flies by when you’re having a good time. That’s an old expression but there’s a lot of truth in it. I can’t believe it’s almost a year since I published Chapter Two and I now have to learn how to do it all over again. I don’t care what they say but these web pages are not that simple to do, but enough complaining. Here we go!
As I said, I’m having a good time in retirement and of course the best part is that it’s like the weekend, every day. We used to take week long vacations for the most part and I can remember that around Thursday and Friday, a sadness would set in knowing I’d soon be going back to work. No more! I remember talking with a friend who retired a couple of years ahead of me and his outlook was rather frightening. He said when he got up in the morning and had his breakfast, that was it for the day. He had nothing to look forward to. I wasn’t going to let that happen to me. Hence, this web page and I’m late because we’re always doing something, together, and enjoying each other’s company. It’s a great life!!
I spent several days going through my photo albums, looking for interesting and meaningful pictures to include in the web pages. I soon realized that the majority of the shots are family related and of little interest to the general public. But, I enjoyed seeing again our early family life and decided to include them for my family at large. Let’s all relive the good times because we don’t record the bad times, except in the recesses of our minds.
Naturally, I have to begin my journey where it all started, The Bronx. We then ramble through the years with a few memorable vacation pictures and of course, some family highlights. Turn the pages slowly and enjoy!
